The Grave Stalker
The skys were clear and the Milkyway was in the perfect position for this pic.
But me being a little to focussed getting limited opportunities to shoot the Milkyway. I went into the Middle Of Mount Crawford Forest by myself in a Cemetery at midnight 😬.
(as the milky core was rising)
So I just wasnt focused on the what ifs etc. On the 6th light pass of the Ruin, a car went past then stopped.... reversed back and shone there lights on me. Then he sped up and parked aprox 30 cm away from my bumper Well to say I sh#% myself was an understatement being by myself. I put my torch on the car yelling out i was doing some photography. I could see him going through items on the floor of the passenger side. He then got out the car and jumped over the fence and walked straight towards me and brushed his shoulder passing me and said you do know this is the most haunted place in the Adelaide Hills dont you. He then walked to the back of the Cemetery and lit up a cigarette and started watching me. Was pretty uncomfortable with that, took my last shot, unclipped the camera off the tripod and kept an eye on him, i got my gear and said Seeya mate and started walking briskly to the gate holding my tripod firmly. As i arrived at the gate I noticed him walking back towards me so I walked back to the car faster and he sped up and again jumped the fence and didnt go through the gate, i arrived at the car and just chucked my camera gear in the back in a panic, he opened the boot of his car and was trying to find something and kept looking up at me, I jumped into the drivers seat shut and locked the door, I put the key in the ignition and it took 3 times to start as the battery in the remote was quite flat. As soon as it started I did a u-turn to get away whilst he was still staring at me and trying to find something is his boot, i just took off and got out of there and never looked back..
DONT go alone to places like these or anywhere at night in the middle of a Forest, its just not worth the risk. Just feel I was very lucky in this instance. I was silly wont go alone again. I put myself danger without realising and just didnt think about my safety, a very real lesson learned.
